Road trip East Australia: First two stops
The road trip has officially started. On Tuesday, the 2nd of May, we picked up our camper van and we started our trip from Brisbane to Cairns. We are going to be traveling in our camper van for five weeks.
First stop: Sunshine Coast
On Tuesday we started our journey and drove to the Sunshine Coast. It was only a 2,5h drive, but it was nice to get used to the van. We looked up a camping using WikiCamps, an app that my friend (which is also Davids sister) recommended. The camping spot was amazing, only five meters away from the beach. We stayed here for only two nights.
Lunch at Elixiba
We chilled at the beach and went our for lunch at a full plant-based restaurant called Elixiba. The food was amazing and it looked so pretty. I ordered protein pancakes and David ordered taco’s. After a very easy and chill day we were ready to continue our road trip.
Second stop: Noosa
Next stop is Noosa, where we spend most of our time at the National Park. We went to Noosa River Holiday Park and the camping was amazing. The location is perfect, the toilets and showers were super clean and the view was gorgeous. I highly recommend this camping.
Noosa National Park
Our first day was a very rainy day but we used it to settle and walk around Noosa. The second day, which was actually our first full day in Noosa, we visited the National Park. We did the Coast Trail and the views are absolutely beautiful. It is very easy to walk for all ages.
We went to the Fairy Pools and luckily there weren’t a lot of people so we got the chance to take beautiful pictures. We also went to Tea Tree Bay. It is a very nice beach at the national park with toilet facilities which is nice when you spend the whole day at the park.
The second day we went back to the national park and we visited Alexandria Bay. I was super lucky and spotted a koala. We have seen koalas at the sanctuary in Brisbane but this was the first one we saw in the wild. Our last day we just went to Granite Bay and chilled at the beach.
As soon as we left we already wanted to go back. But we are now at Hervey Bay and tomorrow, on Friday, we are going to visit Fraser Island. So make sure to stay tuned!
